It’s been a tough year for many musicians but Josh Island hasn’t wasted any time and as restrictions ease, the local singer songwriter is ready to present his new EP, Love Don’t Come Easy, with a sold out show at Op der Schmelz in Dudelange this Saturday the 24th April.
Strangely, lockdown sort of came at a good time for Josh who had been touring relentlessly in 2019 and early 2020. Lockdown arrived and gave him time to write, restrictions eased in the summer and he was able to travel to Portugal to record the new EP and once he got back, things went quiet again and the finishing touches could be applied.
The result is probably Josh’s best collection of tunes. It really sounds as though he is having fun on this album which also showcases a more rock/pop side to his music.
The EP is formally released on May 7th but some lucky fans will get to see him perform with a full band at Op der Schmelz in Dudelange. The show is all but sold out at the time of writing but you could chance your luck though here, otherwise make sure to check out Josh Island’s bandcamp to get a copy of the EP and keep your eyes peeled as there will hopefully be more gigs to follow soon.
