Local singer songwriter and all around nice guy Bartleby Delicate joined Sam on the Breakfast Show to discuss his new EP Deadly Sadly Whatever, getting back on stage and to play a song live in studio!
The EP seems very much a product of and also a reaction to the Covid 19 pandemic and subsequent lockdown.
One thing lockdown gave Bartleby was time, lots of it and he used it to get to grips with the synths and electronic elements that we first heard on his debut EP, Whatever We Find Suitable To Compare. The result is a much more complete and accomplished sound that still somehow manages to hold on to the spontaneous personal elements that we identify so much with his music.
It’s also more upbeat than his earlier work, an attempt, he says, to bring some light to people after some tough times.
It really has been a tough time for musicians everywhere and while gigs are slowly coming back, a proper EP release party isn’t possible just yet but you can see Bartleby Delicate live and get your hands on some hard copies of the new EP as well as a bunch of great merchandise tomorrow, Satuday 15th of May, at AM GRONN where he will perform three separate art performances at 11.30, 14.00 & 17.00.
So make sure to head down and support a great local artist.
