Dancer and Choreographer Elisabeth Schilling joined Sam on the Breakfast Show this week to discuss her latest project, Hear Eyes Move - Dances with Ligeti, which is set to his the stage at the Grand Théâtre de la Ville de Luxembourg in early July.
Schilling discusses the challenges posed by the pandemic but also the opportunities and ongoing Invisible Dances project which sought to keep dance alive despite the restrictions imposed over the past 18 months.
Not one to take the easy option, Elisabeth is tackling the notoriously complicated work of György Ligeti and then, treating dance and music as contiguous forms that grow alongside and into each other, she has produced, together with five dancers and the pianist Cathy Krier, a dance-concert and a concert-dance full of captivating multi-sensorial imagery, in which no form or medium ultimately dominates the other.
