Larisa latest production Papercut premiered at the Mierscher Kulturhaus on Saturday 22 January and is in its final nights. Papercut is inspired by the Luxembourg School Leaks scandal of 2015. It focuses on a French teacher at the Lycée Classique d'Echternach, who became an whistleblower.
In their conversation Lisa and Larissa consider whether the pressure placed on kids in local school in the last year of primary allowed this situation to develop.
Larisa was drawn to the story by a personal connection with the teacher involved, someone she knew to be a dedicated and upright person. Through reaching out to her former teacher she saw first hand the impact that the fall out of this philosophical dilemma had on her. Yet it was difficult to draw on a local topic, there is a sense of responsibility that is omitted when a work of pure fantasy is created.
Papercut deals with the aftermath of a decision that is the right thing to do, but can have unexpected personal consequences.
