Ukrainian refugees in Europe: The French region Bourgogne-Franche-Comté

On Local Matters this week, we go abroad to discover how other regions in Europe show solidarity with the refugees coming from Ukraine. Yesterday, we had Hanna Zdanowska on the microphone, the mayor of the polish city of Lodz, where 120.000 Ukrainians have arrived. Today, our guest is Patrick Molinoz. Patrick Molinoz is the Mayor of Venarey-les-Laumes, a small town in the French region Bourgogne-Franche-Comté. Almost no refugees decided to settle in Venarey-Les-Laumes. For the region however, this is no reason to not help and show solidarity. In this interview, we talk about how France and the region Bourgogne-Franche-Comté in particular help Ukrainians. And we also have a look to what the European Union does. Patrick Molinoz is part of the European Committee of the Regions (CoR), a body composed of local and regional politicians that consults the European institutions on policy.
