This Saturday Ampersand Variations will host a walkshop in Lasauvage in Differdange as part of their ongoing project 'Desire Lines' which forms part of the Esch 2022 European Capital of Culture programme.
Clio Van Aerde and Alisa Oleva were our guests on the Breakfast Show this morning to talk about it.
Clio is a Luxembourgish Artist with a background in set design. Alisa is a Russian, London-based artist who was invited to take part in a residency here in Luxembourg as part of Esch 2022. Both artists are interested in how space affects the body and influences movement.
On Sunday, participants in the walkshop will be guided by Alisa to listen, walk, observe, notice, and share. There will also be a soundwalk on which walkers will be taught deep listening techniques.
Desire Lines is a research and performance project that investigates the choices we make with our feet. The artists explore how landscape and architecture, and the pathways between, all nurture our imaginations and help us define ourselves in an ever-changing world.
Over the course of the coming months, the project will include workshops, regular walks and encounters with local communities, the development of different audiowalks and a participatory site-specific performance in Lasauvage in July 2022.
