Duncan Roberts was our guest for Delano's Top Of The Week on Monday 28th of February.
The topic up for discussion was the conflict in the Ukraine. Over the weekend it was announced that the leaders of the Ukraine and Russia, Volodymyr Zelensky and Vladimir Putin would meet in Belarus for talks. On the other hand, in an unprecedented move, the European Union has announced that they will send weapons to the Ukraine to help with the war effort against the Russian invasion. On top of this Vladimir Putin has announced that the Russian Nuclear weapon systems have been put on high alert, ready to be deployed.
Tom and Duncan also discussed the stance that the Luxembourgish Government has taken in response to Russias actions and the news that two former finance ministers of Luxembourg – Etienne Schneider and Jeannot Krecké – have resigned from their positions on the boards of Russian companies that are based in Luxembourg.
For anyone in Luxembourg that wants to help through fundraising, donations or volunteering, Duncan recommended contacting Lukraine, an ASBL dedicated to the Ukrainian community in Luxembourg: www.ukrainians.lu/
Duncan's pick of events that are happening this week in luxembourg included:
