Greg Ritts and Pit Bingen from the Luxembourg Lacrosse Association joined us on the breakfast show this morning to talk about the how the sport is growing in Luxembourg and how people can get involved.
Lacrosse is the oldest organized sport in North America and was played by the indigenous people of Canada. These days it is popular around the world. Pit started playing Lacrosse whilst at university in Heidelberg and up returning to Luxembourg searched out fellow enthusiasts to play with in the public parks of Luxembourg City. Five years later and Luxembourg has its own mens and womens team and the Luxembourg Lacrosse Association is introducing a Lacrosse programme into secondary schools in the Grand Duchy.
Training sessions take place twice a week at the Boy Konen training ground in Cessange, the team have equipment available to hire and anybody is welcome to join a training session.
