Luxembourgish theatre director, Anne Simon joined Tom on the Breakfast Show today to talk about her new production of Shakespeare's Richard II which is showing this week at the Théâtre National de Luxembourg.
The production is a stripped-back adaptation of the Shakespeare original, performed by two actors and a musician. By breaking down the play to it's core elements and opening the script to interpretation through English to Luxembourgish translations, modern references and musical accompaniment, Anne has created an edgy contemporary take on the classic that grapples with the concepts of power and gender roles in the modern society.
Performances are taking place on the 23rd, 24th, 27th, 28th April and the 3rd and 4th of May.
