This week Monodrama Festival celebrates it's 12th edition presenting a programme of solo-performance theatre and dance performances at Bananefabrik in Bonnevoie. This morning, actors Pip Utton and Despina Sarafeidou joined us in the studio alongside festival Director Pip Utton to discuss their upcoming performances.
Pip Utton is considered to be one of the UK's leading solo performers. He will be performing in two productions at this year's festival. Tonight, spectators can see him performing in 'At Home With Will Shakespeare' and on Saturday he will perform 'Playing Maggie' a play that sees him take on the character of Maggie Thatcher and interact with audience members, inviting them to ask questions and replying in character.
Despina Sarafeidou is also an award winning actress from Greece. Tomorrow Night she will perform 'Kassandra, A Stand Up Tragedy in Broken English'. A play that blends genres and narratives featuring the character of Kassandra, a trans-gender immigrant prostitute that simultaneously represents the character Cassandra from Greek mythology.
Each day will also feature live music and catering by Chiche.
