Music on Hold are a band from Paris that released their debut album on Born Bad Records last year. Tom caught up with them on zoom for a chat ahead of their gig at De Gudde Wellen in Luxembourg city on the 4th of May.
What began as home-recorded demos by the lead singer Emile transformed into a fully fledged album and new band when he enlisted the help of two friends, Mathisse an Guillaume to record the debut Long Player at a studio in Paris.
The main inspiration for the album came in the form of vintage analog studio gear that Emile started to collect a few years ago. Having always played in 60s revival garage rock bands, Emile was able to create these type of songs filtered through the sounds of this 80s analog gear to create the record.
Their time in the studio recording the album was fruitful as they have a new EP ready to be released in the coming weeks. The new material will see its first performances to the public on this current tour.
Music on Hold touch down in Luxembourg on Wednesday 4th May when they play at De Gudde Wellen.
