Once per year, youth gets to defend their proposals in parliament, debating with MEPs and ministers. For the president of the youth council, Liam Bremer, the Jugendkonvent is a successful tool for political participation, for Diana Snopok and Marta Ribeiro, it's an occasion to get their points across and to feel heard. On Local Matters, all three of them explain what political participation means to them. They both agree that getting heard in Luxembourg is easier than elsewhere because of the country’s size. Marta says: “In Germany, I would be 0,000001 percent of the population. Here, I am more.” Both are involved in the students’ committee of their school, Marta as a council member, Diana by representing her class mates interests.
On today’s Local Matters, we dive deeper into how they see the opportunities that exist in Luxembourg.
