Fatih Maytalman And Gamze Gunner are Turkish citizens living in Luxembourg. They contacted Radio Ara asking for an opportunity to alert people to the damage that has been caused in Southeastern Türkiye and Norhtern Syria in the wake of the devastating earthquakes that took place on Monday 06th of February and to let people know how they can help.
Over 10,000 buildings have collapsed in the affected area in Türkiye, millions of people are without homes and over 21,000 people have lost their lives. As the days since the disaster pass by the likelyhood of finding survivors in the rubble decreases meaning that this toll is expected to rise drastically. A quick emergency response is therefore crucial and financial support for the organisations that are mobilising rescue efforts and helping the survivors is urgently needed.
A donation of even €10 can provide urgently needed supplies like sanitary items, food or even an infrared heater for those left without a home in subzero temperatures
