On Local Matters this week, we focus on one of the largest religious communities in Luxembourg. We talk about Islam and Islamophobia. For the past three years, the Observatoire de l’Islamophobie au Luxembourg (OIL) has published statistics about Islamophobia in Luxembourg. The numbers are constantly lower than in the neighboring countries. Nevertheless, islamophobia exists. For the report, the OIL sets up a questionnaire that invites victims as well as observers of Islamophobia to report their experiences. For today’s first interview of this week’s series, we had Jasmin Jahic in the studio, the president of OIL. In our interview, he explains what about this report is the most alarming.
