Multiplica Festival is taking place at Rotondes this weekend, hosting audiovisual performances, live shows, DJ sets, workshops and an exhibition which opens tonight. Tête-à-tête is an exhibition which invites you to explore the relationships between emotions and technology through the works of six participating artists. This morning Tom was joined on the Breakfast Show by Karen Lancel and Herman Maat who will be presenting an installation called Kissing Data Symphony.
Since 1995 Karen Lancel and Herman Maat have been collaborating as artists exploring the dynamics of humankinds interactions with technology. Their installation Kissing Data Symphony does just that by inviting participants to monitor their brain activity as they embrace in a kiss. The data from the brain readings is then projected around the sitting participants and simultaneously transformed into music that soundtracks the kiss. What transpires is a completely unique moment and set of data which is produced by each kiss between audience members.
Tête-à-tête opens tonight at 5pm with the first performance of Kissing Data Symphony beginning at 5.30pm. It will then be presented at different times throughout the festival. More information about the exhibition and the rest of Multiplica Festival's programme can be found at www.multiplica.lu
