The Luxembourg City Film Festival celebrates its 13th Edition this year. Between 2nd and 12th of March, the festival will host screenings, workshops, exhibitions, conferences, masterclasses parties and other events around the city. This morning Alexis Juncosa, artistic director of the festival joined Tom on the Breakfast show to talk about what this year's edition has in store.
Luxembourg City Film Festival was recently named as one of the 25 coolest festivals in the world in US magazine Moviemaker. It's a testament to the effort that the programming team have put into making the festival such a success since beginning 12 years ago. In that time, Alexis Juncosa has seen the Luxembourg film industry go through huge evolutions to the point where Luxembourgish films are receiving international recognition and the offering of Luxembourg-made productions is almost warranting of its own category in the festival's competition.
This year's film festival will feature roughly 180 screenings and attendance numbers are expected to surpass 30,000 attendees. Screenings will take place primarily at cine Utopia, cinematheque and Kinepolis with smaller screenings, exhibitions, workshops and discussions taking place in venues such as MUDAM, Abbey Neimenster, Rotondes, Casino and Circle Cité.
