KJT (Kanner-Jugendtelefon) is a counselling service for children, young people and parents in Luxembourg. They provide telephone counselling and online counselling via email and messaging, anonymously and free of charge, thanks to the work of trained volunteers. Carmen Weyer and Linn Frank from KJT joined Tom on The Breakfast Show this morning to talk about the work that the organization does and to share an open call for new volunteers
KJT are currently recruiting new volunteers for the english language online help service. New volunteers will undergo a 70 hour training course that will begin in May. Suitable volunteers include anybody that is interested in helping children, adolescents and young adults as well as in psychological or pedagogical topics. Future volunteer counsellors should be psychologically resilient, be flexible in their thoughts and open-minded. KJT ask that if you have the ambition to learn something new, without being afraid of personal development, please contact them.
KJT will be holding an information evening for prospective volunteers on Thursday, 30th march at 6:30 pm. Here, they will be provide an overview of the services of KJT and details about the training, followed by a question and answer session related to every possible question about being a volunteer counsellor at the Online Help of KJT.
