Municipal elections: The NGO ZUG's political demands

More space for pedestrians in the neighborhoods - this is the main demand of the Zentrum fir urban Gerechtegkeet (ZUG). In our interview on Local Matters, Francesca Pham presents their political demands ahead of the municipal elections.

The NGO ZUG lobbies for more equal distribution of the space in the city. This implies less space for cars and more for pedestrians and cyclists. Accountability and transparency in local politics has become a second large subject on ZUG’s agenda. For about a year, they have been fighting for the right to access documents of the city of Luxembourg. The documents could prove where pedestrian infrastructure doesn’t comply with the safety rules. To bring this fight to court, ZUG is currently crowdfunding for a lawyer. If you want to support their cause, you can find more information on their website www.zug.lu.
