Right then, fingers on the buzzers and all that…let us know which one of these new releases should be played as the ACR Track of the Week. Here’s the list…comment on socials, or text 691 35 35 99 with preferences.
The first is a track called 'Be with You' by a band from the UK called Leisure.
And second track played on the Breakfast Show, is a young Australian artist called Genesis Owusu who made history recently by becoming the first hip hop artist to win album of the year at the ARIA awards. This track ('Waiting on ya remix') is a remix of one of the tracks from his debut album ('smiling with no teeth')
The next track 'subete urimono' is a reissue (so kind of cheating) of a band called Aunt Sally who were supposedly Japan's first ever punk band.
"The Last Ten" is by a group from the USA called Weakened Friends. It came out last Friday with their album which Tom found on Bandcamp's "album of the day" feature.
The Fifth track 'Phase' by Jax Jones and Sinead Harnett is from a compilation that came out to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Pokémon. …wait what? Pokémon 25 years??
Finally, the last track "Let's Stick Around" is a collaboration between Jarvis Cocker and production duo Gucci Soundsystem. They originally released it during Cop 26 and Cocker has labeled it as the world’s first 'sustainable banger'.
