Remember concerts? They were good weren’t they? It’s been quite a while since many of us have been able to go to a live gig but our friends over at den Atelier have been busy working to keep some shows on the road. In this case almost literally “on the road”. In collaboration with KaGePE, den A brings you, eh, Brings!
The band from Cologne, who mostly perform in Kolsch, the local dialect of Cologne, have been around since the early nineties and originally had a very rocky sound. Around the time of the release of their debut album, Zwei Zoote Minsche ("Two kinds of people"), they supported the likes of AC/DC, Simple Minds and Tom Petty and in general, they were doing pretty well and succeeding in their goal of distancing themselves from the Carnival sound and scene so associated with Cologne. They continued down that path for 10 years and then decided to do a complete 180 and that’s when things really started to happen.
In 2001 they released the incredibly successful single Superjeilezick, a straight up Carnival Party Hit and just like that they were transformed. Embracing their roots and leaving rock music behind, Brings began focusing on carnival and party songs, a strategy that lead to ultimate success.
Since then the band have played stadium gigs that attracted around 50,000 fans so this show in Petange might be a little different but for anyone who has ever turned the music up in the car and had a little private sing-along it shouldn’t be a problem!
Den Atelier say only one ticket is needed per vehicle (not per person) and that due to the current restrictions, they won't be able to sell any food or drinks during this event so bring your own picnic & drinks in your car.
