Every Monday the Breakfast Show Team bring you a selection of their favourite new music to have been released in the previous week and ask the listeners to decide on which track will be our track of the week.
This week brought us new tracks by Tears for Fears, Placebo, Muse, The Wombats, The Knocks featuring Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs, Metronomy and Fontaines DC who our listeners voted into the top spot with their new single ‘Jackie Down The Line‘.
Tracks in contention:
Tears For Fears - Break The Man
The Wombats - This Car Drives All By Itself
Muse - Won’t Stand Down
Metronomy - Things Will Be Fine
The Knocks ft Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs
The Knocks are an electronic production duo hailing from the USA. For their latest single, they’ve teamed up with British producer Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs on this catchy track that sits somewhere between melodic house and indie dance.
Placebo - Try Better
Placebo recently announced that their next album ‘Never Let Me Go‘, and their first new release since 2016, will be coming out in March this year. There will be an accompanying world tour to promote it and they get to Luxembourg on the 04th of November when they will be playing at the Rockhal. Their latest single to be released in the run up to the album, ‘Try Better Next time‘ came out last Friday and it was close to claiming the top spot for our Track Of The Week.
Track of The Week: Fontaines D.C. - Jackie Down The Line
That honour, however was given to the new Fontaines D.C. single ‘Jackie Down The Line‘ which scooped the win via some last minute voting through our instagram stories. The Dublin Rockers will also be playing in Luxembourg later this year. Catch them at Den Atelier on the 9th of April
