On the agenda for discussion was the appointment of Luxembourg's new American Ambassador Tom Barratt.
Barratt comes to Luxembourg having served the longest Mayoral term in the USA's history as Mayor of Milwaukee.
Taking office six months after the election of Joe Biden to the American Presidency, Barratt arrives with the continuation of the Artemis space programme, fostering connections between Luxembourgish start-ups and incubators in the USA, supporting NATO's operations here and promoting sustainability high on his list of priorities.
He is the latest in a long list of interesting American Ambassadors to have been designated to officiate in Luxembourg, with James Hormel, the first ever openly gay American diplomat, and Perle Mesta, who was the subject of the musical 'Call Me Madam', amongst others preceding him.
