It has finally happened. Even after all these years, Wham! made it to the top of a national chart with their Christmas carol about open-heart surgery. This time around it was the Austrian chart that holds the honours although the official German chart wasn’t far behind.

Other than that, it was a somewhat slow week when it comes to new top tracks across the EU. Specifically, Slovenia and Malta have had new number ones, as did Luxembourg with Tom Misch and Loyle Carner.

In addition to the above, we have repeat offenders in Czech Republic and Italy, and a familiar face in Cyprus. All in all, seven new tracks with a total running time of just over 25 minutes. We told you it was a slow week.
