Running to the window, I opened it, and put out my head. No fog, no mist; clear, bright, jovial, stirring, cold; cold, piping for the blood to dance to; Golden sunlight; Heavenly sky; sweet fresh air; merry bells. Oh, glorious. Glorious!
"What's to-day?" I cried, calling downward to a boy in fashionable clothes, who perhaps had loitered in to look about him.
"Eh?" returned the boy, with all his might of wonder.
"What's to-day, my fine fellow?" I said.
"To-day?" replied the boy. "Why, it’s Francis of Delirium’s EP Release Day."
"It's Francis of Delirium’s EP Release Day!" I said to myself. "I haven't missed it.
Why was a Christmas Carol the first thing that came in to my head when I sat down to write this in April? Who knows? Maybe because like Christmas which has a run up that just seems to get longer and longer every year we’ve been getting the odd single and teases and bits and pieces of this EP for quite a while now and now I’m just delighted it’s here.
Over four songs and fourteen minutes our own Jana Bahrich runs the full emotional gamut. It’s a collection of songs that grabs you by the scruff of the neck, beats you around the head with some nostalgia, hit’s you with some emotional gut punches but ultimately leaves with a warm fuzzy feeling inside.
So yeah, I guess it is a bit like Christmas really.
