Local a cappella group, Sultry, have released a new single and video and member and musical director, Karen Humphries joined Sam in studio yesterday to present it.
Ordinarily the eight piece group entertain audiences with their repertoire of jazz, swing, classic rock, pop and Disney songs but as these are not ordinary times the band have had to get creative in order to keep performing.
With Saturday Fish Fry, their latest work, all audio tracks were separately recorded, and filming was limited to individual takes or groups of two. The songs seeks to evoke the party atmosphere of a New Orleans Saturday night: rocking, "scufflin' and shufflin' till the break of dawn", and transfers this Saturday night atmosphere to a dinner party in Luxembourg, from the preparations to the final scene with all the singers cut "together" at the table.
The group are dedicating their new recording to all restaurant and bar staff who have not been able to work during the health crisis. Sultry previously released Happy Together, dedicated to the healthcare staff at the Hôpitaux Robert Schuman and Santa Baby, thanking teachers for their dedication to education in the continuing health crisis.
