Interview With Keith Grant
British painter Keith Grant joined Tom on the Breakfast Show this morning to talk about his life as an artist and the exhibition he currently has running at Biodiversum in Remerchen.
Keith is 92 years old and has been painting for more than 7 decades. He studied at the royal college of art and has dedicated his life to painting the natural landscape.
His art is currently on exhibition at Biodiversum in Remerchen in a show entitled 'Visions of Nature'. The exhibition includes 2 paintings that Keith painted in response to the war breaking out in Ukraine. One painting - 'The Birch Tree' - depicts a lone birch sappling growing in the midst of a forest fire, symbolizing the resilience of the Ukrainian People. This painting will be donated to LUkraine to be housed in a newly built cultural centre. Another painting - 'From a Ukrainian Child's Window' shows a view of the chaos of war from a bedroom window with symbolic elements of hope breaking through the destruction. This painting will be sold with all proceeds of the sale being donated to LUkraine.
The exhibition runs for another week and more details can be found at www.keith-grant.com/
